Slideshow: The Laramie package for Ram trucks has always meant top-drawer features, and for 2019, there are more.
Pickups are a mainstay, and in the past few years the top-end models have been kicking up the competition. The top-end models like Ford’s King Ranch edition, or the High Country from Chevrolet, mean more leather and other features. For Ram, it’s the Laramie Longhorn edition — and for the new 2019 pickup, the company isn’t pulling its punches.
The new Ram Laramie Longhorn edition is carving a new niche in the luxury pickup market, and Ram has worked to capture a true Southwestern feel for drivers and passengers. That means plenty of leather, and a few other “cowboy” touches, too. We’ve plowed through the press kit on this new rig and pulled together this slideshow to share what we found.
This is a truck that brings plenty of wood and leather to the party, but it’s on a new chassis that offers a lot of other durability features. The 2019 Ram 1500, profiled by Farm Progress recently, has a load of new features, and for this new luxury model all the options are included.
The Laramie Longhorn package isn’t a new idea for the Ram brand, but this latest upgrade will catch some attention. And the company kept its popular RV Match Walnut Brown two-tone exterior for 2019. Beyond that color scheme, you’ll know it’s the Longhorn because it has premium LED headlamps and tail lamps, unique wheels and grills.
That front nose, which has a totally new look for 2019, gets the luxury treatment with a chrome slat Ram grill and chrome header. There are also chrome bumpers, tow hooks and side steps that are standard. You can choose between 20- and 22-inch wheels with a variety of matching finishes. And there is a large belt buckle badge on the side (and on the tailgate) for this rig.
Click through the slides and ponder what this luxury truck offers. This is definitely what we used to call the “go-to-meeting” truck.

The interior of the new truck doesn’t lack for luxury. The company maximized the driver space with that new 12-inch monitor that will be available on all 2019 models as an option (standard on the Laramie Longhorn). This is the Mountain Brown interior. Click on to see another version and new color scheme. The dash on this model is 100% full-grain leather that’s hand-wrapped; there are leather door-panel coverings and armrests in the Southwestern style.

This is the Cattle Tan interior color scheme — you might want to click back and forth to see the difference. This has more of a “coffee” appearance. And with this truck model, it’s all about the details. The center console features wood tandem doors; the rest of the interior has plenty of barn wood accents, too.

Front seats bear the Laramie Longhorn brand, and the 100% full-leather seats are heated as well. There are Mountain Brown-Light Mountain Brown and Black-Cattle Tan choices — these are full-leather seats with contrast piping. This is the Black-Cattle Tan version — and note the alligator pattern, too. Rear seats are also leather and heated.

That system also offers a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot and the new SiriusXM 360L personalized listening system. There are even five USB ports that link to the Uconnect system. Those center console doors have a barn wood pattern, including a satin brushed-chrome finish — and if you look closely, you can see “tooling” in the chrome similar to what you might see in leather. They’re heading for the full cowboy look.
