New engine, new trim and a whole new look for the 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500

We recently featured the Ram 1500 redesign, and also noted the new diesel engine for the Ford F-150 (a first for that model). Now comes news that the Chevy Silverado will also have diesel power. We already teased the new truck during a special 100-year anniversary event, this time around we dig in on more details about trim levels, engine choices and more.

The truck gets some significant changes to its sheet metal and front end. It's a bolder design that the company claims is also more aerodynamic. In addition, the company has returned to stamping the tailgate with Chevrolet – a tailgate staple that the company says recalls those "iconic Chevy trucks of the 1950s and 60s."

Models with dual exhaust will see an integrated design that's a lot cleaner than in the past. And the rear "step-design" bumper remains part of the new truck. We've broken down details on the new truck in the slideshow. Click through the images to check out the latest on this totally new Silverado heading to your local Chevy dealer later in 2018.

And while we know most farmers do the "heavy duty" thing, this 1500 redo offers cues to what may be coming in that class of truck soon. So click on to learn more about this latest pickup to the market.
