Our aim is to help you spot those tools, machines or other items you might not even have known you needed. With this new product lineup, we’re starting a conversation between you and the makers of these new tools. If you need more information, we’ve provided handy weblinks to use in connecting with the companies.
Click through the slideshow to check out what’s on tap this month. You might just find something you can’t live without.

BOOSTING DRILL VALUE: Want to get more value from a Pöttinger drill? Mounting a Tegosem 500 cover crop seeder on a Terrasem mulch-seed drill allows you to apply an added companion crop or microgranule component while drilling seed and depositing fertilizer with seed coulters and fertilizer coulters. In addition to a surface application, the Tegosem can feed the additional component — seed or fertilizer — into the metering system in the single-shoot process. Seed distribution on the Tegosem is pneumatic and can be controlled through a terminal in the cab. Learn more at poettinger.at/en-us.

MINI SKID-STEER AUGER: Danuser has introduced a new mounting for its EP Auger to make it compatible with mini skid-steers. The auger has a planetary gear drive that is up to 42% stronger than competitive models. Models range from 6 to 35 gpm and from 1,500 to 3,500 psi to take on a range of agriculture and construction tasks. The unit swings from a knuckle to allow left-to-right, forward-to-back leveling. Most vehicles with a 72-inch or greater hinge pin height may use the standard 4-foot-length augers. Hinge pin heights 71 inches or shorter require 3-foot-length augers. Mounts are available for front-end loaders, backhoes, excavators and other skid-steer models. Learn more at danuser.com.

COST-EFFECTIVE GRAIN DRYING: Triple Green Products has developed its BioDryAir system that the company claims significantly reduces the cost of drying. The carbon-neutral biomass grain dryer meets state environmental standards and is designed to hook up to any conventional grain dryer. The technology was first developed for the mining sector and can run on a range of fuel sources including corn stover, canola, oat and barley straw, pellets of all types and wood chips — which can lower fuel costs. The system is scalable and can be ordered to meet any farming operation size, according to the company. The system is automated and can be monitored from a smartphone.
DETECT LEAKS: Do you have stored fertilizer on the farm? Do you find it a hassle to check tanks regularly? Heartland Tank Services has an answer with its leak detection system (LDS), which is designed to immediately detect leaks in large liquid storage tanks that have an internal flexible membrane liner for containment. The system can sense the presence of any liquid and distinguish whether it is simply condensation near the tank or actual product loss. The system triggers an alert and sends instant notifications to those you designate. The leak sensor is installed directly on the 1-inch ball valve connected to the leak detection port on the exterior of the tank. Each LDS includes a main controller and one leak sensor (shown lower left). Up to three extra leak sensors can be installed at the valve boxes. Depending on the tank design, the LDS could have as many as four leak sensors. Learn more at heartlandtankservices.com.
